Our story began in 1928.
Evelyn Allwood with his father Samuel Allwood rolled up their sleeves and vowed to serve the hard-working people in the mining village of Ollerton quality produce at reasonable prices. With this mind set, our butchery was born and three generations down the line, we’re still keeping Evelyn’s vision alive.
Now ran by his grandson, Richard, Allwoods is an award-winning butchery and deli that proudly serves Nottinghamshire delicious meats – all of which are reared within ten miles of the shop.
Allwoods butchery prides itself on its original flavours and unique tastes of the local area. We have a wide range of our own cured meats, such as our speciality Marmalade Roast, Honey Roast and Mustard Hams. Along with this, we stock a wide selection of award-winning local and worldwide cheeses, olives and preserves.
And if you fancy something just a little bit sweet for desert, for a limited time only we’re stocking home-made Manchester, Lemon Curd or Cornflake tarts.
From Turkey, Ham and Mature Cheddar to Traditional Pork, we’re proudly shouting about our award-winning, home-made pies. Using traditional recipes, our pies are packed full of flavour. And if that wasn’t enough, at Allwoods, we’re always experimenting with seasonal flavours so this autumn; why not warm yourself up with our delicious Venison and Red Wine or rich Steak and Local Ale pies.
